The IBEW Construction Council of Ontario (IBEW CCO) represents 11 IBEW Local Unions, serving over 18,000 skilled workers including members in the low-voltage sector throughout the province of Ontario.

The Electrical Contractors Association of Ontario (ECAO) represents over 750 electrical and low-voltage contractors throughout the province of Ontario.  Together, the IBEW and ECAO are powering our communities.

NCS job Readiness Training

Overview

WHAT IS JOB READINESS TRAINING?

The Network Cabling Specialist (NCS) Job Readiness Training (JRT) is a four-week training program created to help advance the Network Cabling Specialist 631A trade apprenticeship and help promote the Certificate of Qualification.

The program is designed to ensure students are work-ready and provided the best path to obtain a Registered Training Agreement in the NCS 631A trade.

The IBEW provides Job Readiness Training at our state-of-the-art training facilities across the province. Provided at no cost to successful applicants, training is hands-on and taught by leaders in the low-voltage field.

The JRT program is the first step in your journey to becoming a 631A Network Cabling Specialist with the IBEW. Upon completion of the JRT program, we will assist students with finding placements.

What is a Network Cabling Specialist

631A License

The 631A Network Cabling Specialist (NCS) license is a provincially recognized certification that covers the entire low voltage sector from telecommunications and structured cabling, to DAS, security and CCTV, as well as advanced AV installations.

In Ontario, the IBEW is the exclusive Training Delivery Agent (TDA) for the 631A NCS Apprenticeship training program. Access industry-leading training and secure your future with the 631A NCS license.
